Head to head

Email Bump vs HubSpot

HubSpot is a CRM platform with marketing attached. We're an email platform with no CRM at all. So this comparison is really about whether you need the half we don't have.

Eleven rows below, and the first honest point: if your sales team lives in HubSpot, we don't replace it.

The short version

Which one you want, in three sentences

Pick HubSpot if you want one record for marketing, sales and support, and you'll use enough of the platform to justify Professional. The integration between the halves is the product, and nothing on this page replicates it.

Pick Email Bump if you're paying Professional prices to send campaigns and run a few sequences, and the CRM is either unused or better served by something else.

Pick neither if you need marketing automation plus a CRM at a mid-market price — that's ActiveCampaign — or if your marketing is store behaviour, which is Klaviyo.

Against us

Three places HubSpot is the better choice

It has a CRM and we don't. Deals, pipelines, sales sequences, forecasting, service tickets. If your revenue team works in HubSpot, this comparison is over — we replace the marketing emails and nothing else, and any saving is offset by whatever you buy to fill the gap.

One record across every team. Marketing sees what sales did, support sees what marketing sent. That single-record integration is the actual product and it's genuinely hard to reproduce by wiring separate tools together.

The free CRM is remarkable. Free, for up to two users, with real functionality. If you're an early-stage team, taking the free CRM and running marketing elsewhere is often the right answer — and half of that answer is HubSpot's.

FAQ

Email Bump vs HubSpot, asked and answered

Is Email Bump cheaper than HubSpot?

Dramatically, for the marketing half. Professional is $800/mo plus a $3,000 one-off onboarding fee before you count seats at $45 each. Ours is $19/mo at 10,000 contacts with unlimited seats and no onboarding fee.

But it's not like-for-like. If you use the CRM, you're comparing a platform to an email tool and the price difference is explained by what's missing.

Does Email Bump have a CRM?

No. There are contacts, custom fields, behavioural events, live segments and lifecycle flows — everything needed to decide who gets which email and when. There are no deals, pipelines, owners or forecasts.

A common pattern is to keep HubSpot's free CRM for sales and run marketing here, syncing over the API.

Is there an onboarding fee?

No. Sign up with an email address, verify it, add a domain and send. HubSpot's Professional tier requires a $3,000 onboarding fee and Enterprise $7,000, both mandatory.

You can also do the whole setup from a terminal or an agent — the CLI and MCP server cover account creation, domain verification and sending without a browser.
