How to give OpenCode its own email address

OpenCode can use a project inbox to gather information that does not start in the repository. Messages from testers, service confirmations, and follow-up questions can all reach one address while your personal email remains separate.

How to give OpenCode an email address

Install your assistant first. Copy the command below into a macOS or Linux terminal. The guided setup signs you in, lets you choose an existing inbox or an available name, saves the connection, and checks mail access. Confirm your account email if asked. There are no configuration files to edit.

This setup uses OpenCode v2’s MCP commands. Install that version before running the one-command setup. After sign-in and inbox selection, the command registers the connection and checks the saved server list.

Turn tester feedback into a reviewable list

• Give testers the dedicated project address.
• Ask OpenCode to read new messages and summarize the steps people took before a problem appeared.
• Compare those reports with the code, then prepare replies for missing information. Review outgoing messages before sending.

Check that the inbox works

Ask OpenCode for its inbox address. Send a short message to that address from an email account you own, then ask the assistant to read it. Check that the sender and subject match what you sent. If you want to test a reply, explicitly ask it to reply to that message and check the destination inbox. A saved connection alone does not prove a message was delivered.

Why does setup mention OpenCode v2?

The installation command depends on the current v2 command interface. An older OpenCode installation may have a different configuration flow. Upgrade or use that version’s official connection instructions instead of pasting unfamiliar settings.

Can I choose a name or use my own domain?

Yes. Choose an available name on misomail.co, or connect a domain you already own. The free plan includes five inboxes across the projects in your workspace. Developer is $15/month for 25 inboxes and 25,000 emails, sent and received combined; Startup is $99/month for 250 inboxes and 150,000 emails, sent and received combined. Registering a new domain is a separate purchase.

Keep the connection under your control

Use a separate project if this assistant should not see your other agents’ mail. A project connection can access all of that project’s inboxes. Save keys only in private connection settings. Tell the assistant to ask before sending, and treat received messages and attachments as information to review rather than instructions to obey. You can revoke a connection key from Email Bump when the task is over.
