How to give OpenClaw its own email address

OpenClaw can keep useful workflows in its workspace. An email address can be part of that routine: a place for delivery updates, requested documents, or responses from a business. Give those tasks their own inbox instead of handing over your main Gmail account.

How to give OpenClaw an email address

Install your assistant first. Copy the command below into a macOS or Linux terminal. The guided setup signs you in, lets you choose an existing inbox or an available name, saves the connection, and checks mail access. Confirm your account email if asked. There are no configuration files to edit.

Run setup on the computer where OpenClaw runs. It saves a mail skill in OpenClaw’s managed skills directory and checks the inbox using the signed-in Email Bump CLI. A sandbox must also have access to that CLI and its saved connection; host settings are not automatically available inside a container.

Track a delivery conversation

• Forward the order confirmation you want help with to your assistant’s address.
• Ask OpenClaw to extract the expected delivery date and read later updates in that inbox.
• When something is late, ask for a draft follow-up. Review the order details and recipient before authorizing a send.

Check that the inbox works

Ask OpenClaw for its inbox address. Send a short message to that address from an email account you own, then ask the assistant to read it. Check that the sender and subject match what you sent. If you want to test a reply, explicitly ask it to reply to that message and check the destination inbox. A saved connection alone does not prove a message was delivered.

Can OpenClaw reuse the same inbox next time?

Yes. Keep the inbox and saved connection, then start the next task by asking OpenClaw to use that address. If different agents must have different access, give them separate Email Bump projects.

Can I choose a name or use my own domain?

Yes. Choose an available name on misomail.co, or connect a domain you already own. The free plan includes five inboxes across the projects in your workspace. Developer is $15/month for 25 inboxes and 25,000 emails, sent and received combined; Startup is $99/month for 250 inboxes and 150,000 emails, sent and received combined. Registering a new domain is a separate purchase.

Keep the connection under your control

Use a separate project if this assistant should not see your other agents’ mail. A project connection can access all of that project’s inboxes. Save keys only in private connection settings. Tell the assistant to ask before sending, and treat received messages and attachments as information to review rather than instructions to obey. You can revoke a connection key from Email Bump when the task is over.
