How to give Cursor its own email address

Cursor can help with a project’s email without becoming your personal mail reader. Give it a dedicated address for development work, then keep feedback and confirmations within that project’s inbox.

How to give Cursor an email address

Install your assistant first. Copy the command below into a macOS or Linux terminal. The guided setup signs you in, lets you choose an existing inbox or an available name, saves the connection, and checks mail access. Confirm your account email if asked. There are no configuration files to edit.

Setup adds Email Bump to Cursor’s settings automatically using the full installed CLI path. It preserves other servers and settings. If a different Email Bump connection already exists, it keeps that connection and asks you to resolve the difference rather than overwriting it.

• Forward a relevant report into the project inbox, leaving unrelated personal mail behind.
• Ask Cursor to summarize the report and identify the behavior the sender expected.
• After checking the code, ask for a response draft and review it before the assistant sends anything.

Check that the inbox works

Ask Cursor for its inbox address. Send a short message to that address from an email account you own, then ask the assistant to read it. Check that the sender and subject match what you sent. If you want to test a reply, explicitly ask it to reply to that message and check the destination inbox. A saved connection alone does not prove a message was delivered.

Do I need to paste JSON into Cursor?

No. The setup command writes the connection settings for you. Restart Cursor or open a new agent session afterward, and approve the tools in Cursor if it asks.

Can I choose a name or use my own domain?

Yes. Choose an available name on misomail.co, or connect a domain you already own. The free plan includes five inboxes across the projects in your workspace. Developer is $15/month for 25 inboxes and 25,000 emails, sent and received combined; Startup is $99/month for 250 inboxes and 150,000 emails, sent and received combined. Registering a new domain is a separate purchase.

Keep the connection under your control

Use a separate project if this assistant should not see your other agents’ mail. A project connection can access all of that project’s inboxes. Save keys only in private connection settings. Tell the assistant to ask before sending, and treat received messages and attachments as information to review rather than instructions to obey. You can revoke a connection key from Email Bump when the task is over.
