Head to head

Email Bump vs Vero

Vero meters profiles, emails, push messages and events separately. We meter contacts and nothing else. Both are event-driven; the difference is how many numbers you have to watch.

The short version

Which one you want, in three sentences

Pick Vero if you send push as well as email against the same user profiles, or if running messaging on top of your own data warehouse is the architecture you want.

Pick Email Bump if you only send email and would rather watch one meter than four, with a permanent free plan and a published price ladder.

Pick neither if you need a real object model, which is Customer.io, or account-level B2B targeting, which is Userlist.

Against us

Two places Vero is the better choice

Push messages against the same profile. 20,000 push a month on the entry plan, driven by the same events as the email. We send email and receive email. For a mobile product that's a channel we can't cover.

Running on your own data warehouse. Vero 2.0 messaging on top of the warehouse means your models stay the source of truth rather than being copied into a marketing tool. That's a genuinely different architecture and we don't offer it.

FAQ

Email Bump vs Vero, asked and answered

Is Email Bump cheaper than Vero?

Considerably for email-only work — $19/mo at 10,000 contacts with uncapped sending, against $54/mo for 5,000 profiles and 10,000 emails.

If you're using the push allowance heavily, that's not like-for-like, since we'd leave you needing a push provider.

Do you support push notifications?

No. Email and inbound email only. Vero, Customer.io, Ortto and Braze all do push.

Is there an event limit?

No published event cap — track what you need and build segments on it. Vero's Starter plan includes 160,000 tracked events a month as one of its four meters.
