Email Bump vs Userlist
Userlist models companies and sends in-app messages. We model contacts and events and send email. For B2B SaaS with account-level programmes, that's a real gap in their favour.
Eight rows below, including the two where Userlist wins outright.
Which one you want, in three sentences
Pick Userlist if your messaging needs to reason about accounts — one email to the admin, another to the team, a nudge when the company's usage drops — or if you want in-app messages in the same tool.
Pick Email Bump if you're paying per user for a large free-tier user base, or if you want a permanent free plan and a published price ladder.
Pick neither if you need a proper object model, which is Customer.io, or the simplest possible setup, which is Loops.

Two places Userlist is the better choice
Companies are real objects. Target an account, roll usage up across its users, message the admin differently from the team. For B2B SaaS that's the correct data model and we don't have it — company is a field on a contact here, which only gets you so far.
In-app messages. Delivered inside your product, against the same user record and the same workflow as the email. We send email. If your onboarding lives partly in-app, that's a channel we can't cover.
Email Bump vs Userlist, asked and answered
Is Email Bump cheaper than Userlist?
It depends on your user base. Userlist includes 10,000 users then charges $10–$12 per additional 1,000; we charge $19/mo at 10,000 contacts and $29 at 25,000, and we don't bill unsubscribed or bounced addresses.
For a freemium product with a large non-paying user base, contact-based billing is usually much cheaper.
Can Email Bump target companies?
Not as objects. You can store a company identifier as a contact field and build segments on it, which covers simple cases and not the interesting ones.
If account-level messaging is central, Userlist or Customer.io is the right tool.
Do you support in-app messages?
No. Email and inbound email only. Userlist and Customer.io both deliver in-app.
