Head to head

Email Bump vs Ortto

Ortto includes 4× your contact count in sends and charges $1 per 1,000 beyond it. We don't cap sending at all. That difference decides most lifecycle programmes.

Eight rows below, including the three where Ortto wins outright — it has a CDP, analytics and SMS, and we have none of them.

The short version

Which one you want, in three sentences

Pick Ortto if you want a customer data platform, dashboards and messaging in one product, and your sending is light relative to your contact count. The CDP is the thing you're buying and it's real.

Pick Email Bump if you keep landing in overage at $1 per 1,000, or if you'd rather have transactional email on the same plan than analytics you already get elsewhere.

Pick neither if you need the deepest journeys, which is ActiveCampaign, or a real object model, which is Customer.io.

Against us

Three places Ortto is the better choice

It's a CDP and we aren't. Unified customer profiles fed from multiple sources, with activity and attributes in one place. We hold contacts, fields and events. If your problem is that customer data lives in five systems, Ortto solves it and we don't.

Analytics you'd otherwise buy separately. Dashboards, product analytics and revenue reporting inside the same tool. Our reporting stops at what the email did.

SMS and in-app messages. Both included, against the same profile and journey. We send email and receive email, so a multichannel programme would need another vendor alongside us.

FAQ

Email Bump vs Ortto, asked and answered

Is Email Bump cheaper than Ortto?

Very likely, especially once overage is counted — 4× your contacts plus $1 per 1,000 beyond adds up fast for a lifecycle programme. Ours is $19/mo at 10,000 contacts with no send cap.

Ortto doesn't publish plan prices, so the honest comparison is on structure rather than a headline figure.

Do you have a CDP?

No. Contacts, custom fields, behavioural events and live segments — enough to decide who gets which email and when, and not a unified customer data platform.

If consolidating customer data is the actual project, Ortto or Customer.io is the right shape.

Are there send overages?

No. Sending is uncapped under fair use, so there's no per-1,000 charge to model. Contacts are the only thing metered.
