Head to head

Email Bump vs Notifuse

Notifuse is a campaign layer you point at your own sending provider. We're one system that includes the sending. That's the whole architectural difference.

The short version

Which one you want, in three sentences

Pick Notifuse if keeping your sending provider swappable matters, or if open source is a requirement. Both are things we can't offer at any price.

Pick Email Bump if you'd rather have one system, one bill and one place to look when an email doesn't arrive.

Pick neither if you want open-source automation with the sending included, which is Plunk, or newsletters at volume, which is listmonk.

Against us

Three places Notifuse is the better choice

It's open source and we're not. AGPL-3.0, readable and self-hostable. If code review or lock-in is the concern, that's an answer we don't have.

Your sending provider stays swappable. Move from SES to Postmark to Mailgun with a config change. With us, changing provider means changing platform, because we are the platform.

You can keep an existing contract. If you already have a negotiated rate or a compliance-approved provider, Notifuse sits on top of it. We'd be asking you to replace it.

FAQ

Email Bump vs Notifuse, asked and answered

Can Email Bump use my existing sending provider?

No. We send through Amazon SES on your behalf, and there's no bring-your-own-provider option. Notifuse, Mailcoach and Keila all offer one.

Is Email Bump cheaper than Notifuse?

It depends what you count. Notifuse Cloud from $16/mo plus a sending provider is roughly comparable to our $19/mo with sending included, and self-hosted Notifuse plus SES is cheaper than both.

The real difference is one bill and one support surface versus two.

Can I self-host Email Bump?

No. Notifuse, Plunk, useSend, listmonk, Postal, FreeResend, Mautic, Keila and Ghost are the self-hostable options on the alternatives page.
