Email Bump vs Mailjet

Mailjet meters emails and gives unlimited contacts. We meter contacts and don't cap sending. Which is cheaper depends entirely on your sends-per-contact ratio.

Eight rows below, including the three where Mailjet is the better choice — its free tier is bigger by volume and it's a French company.

The short version

Which one you want, in three sentences

Pick Mailjet if you hold a very large list you email occasionally, if you need EU data handling, or if a 6,000-a-month free tier covers you.

Pick Email Bump if you email a smaller list frequently, or if you want automation without moving to a Premium tier to get it.

Pick neither if you have volume and engineering time — Amazon SES at $0.16 per 1,000 beats both of us.

Against us

Three places Mailjet is the better choice

It's French and we're not. EU data handling as standard against our us-east-1. If residency is a requirement rather than a preference, nothing else on this page matters.

Unlimited contacts from $17/mo. If you hold a very large list and email it rarely, being billed on sends rather than contacts is dramatically cheaper. That's the shape we're worst at.

A bigger free send allowance. 6,000 emails a month against our 5,000. Ours has no daily cap and includes campaigns and flows, but on raw volume theirs is larger.

FAQ

Email Bump vs Mailjet, asked and answered

Is Email Bump cheaper than Mailjet?

Divide your monthly sends by your contact count. Above about three or four, contact pricing wins; below one, Mailjet wins comfortably.

The other factor is automation — it's on every plan here and on Premium at $27/mo there.

Is there a daily sending limit?

No. Mailjet's free plan caps at 200 emails a day and it doesn't roll over. Here the free plan is 5,000 emails a month with no daily ceiling, and paid plans have no send cap under fair use.

Do you have an EU region?

No. Sending is from Amazon SES in us-east-1. Mailjet, Mailgun, AhaSend and Scaleway TEM are the European options on the alternatives page.
