Head to head

Email Bump vs Kit

Kit is built for creators: broadcasts, sequences, landing pages and selling your own products. We're built for products: behavioural events, live segments, flows and a transactional API on the same plan.

Ten rows below, including the three where Kit wins. Its free tier is four times ours and it sells digital products natively — neither of which we can match.

The short version

Which one you want, in three sentences

Pick Kit if you're a creator — a newsletter, a course, a paid membership — and you want the landing pages, the commerce and the recommendation network in one place. It's the best tool for that job and this isn't close.

Pick Email Bump if your subscribers are users of something, and the emails should branch on what those users did. Plus receipts and resets on the same plan rather than a second provider.

Pick neither if you want the cheapest possible newsletter, which is EmailOctopus at $9/mo, or the deepest automation, which is ActiveCampaign.

Against us

Three places Kit is the better choice

The free tier is four times ours. 10,000 subscribers against our 5,000 contacts, with unlimited broadcasts. If you run a newsletter and don't need sequences, Kit's free plan is the best offer on this entire site and we're not going to pretend otherwise.

It sells things. Digital products, subscriptions, paid newsletters, all native with a transaction fee. We have no commerce at all. For a creator whose email list is the business, that's the product.

Landing pages, forms and the recommendation network. Unlimited landing pages and forms even on free, plus a growth network that puts you in front of other creators' audiences. We have none of that, and for audience-building it matters.

FAQ

Email Bump vs Kit, asked and answered

Is Email Bump cheaper than Kit?

At most sizes yes — $19/mo at 10,000 contacts against Creator's $33/mo at 1,000 subscribers. But Kit's free tier goes to 10,000 subscribers and ours to 5,000 contacts, so at the small end Kit is free where we aren't.

The honest framing is that they're priced for different jobs rather than one being cheaper.

Can I move my Kit sequences across?

The subscribers, tags and custom fields import from a CSV cleanly. Sequences don't transfer between platforms and get rebuilt, which is usually a couple of hours per sequence.

Take the export with subscription status attached so unsubscribes arrive as unsubscribes.

Do you sell digital products like Kit?

No. No commerce, no paid subscriptions, no checkout. If Kit is processing your product revenue, we replace the email half of what you're using and you'd need something else for the rest.
