Head to head

Email Bump vs Flodesk

Flodesk sells design and checkouts to creators. We sell lifecycle email and a transactional API to products. The overlap is that both send campaigns to a list.

Eight rows below, including the three where Flodesk wins outright — starting with the one everybody notices first.

The short version

Which one you want, in three sentences

Pick Flodesk if how the email looks is the point. Their templates are the best in this comparison and no amount of feature list changes that.

Pick Email Bump if the list belongs to a product — you need behavioural segments, lifecycle flows and receipts on the same plan, and you'd rather not pay for checkouts you won't use.

Pick neither if you want the cheapest capable tool, which is MailerLite or EmailOctopus, or native commerce beyond checkouts, which is Kit.

Against us

Three places Flodesk is the better choice

The templates. Flodesk emails look like a designer made them because the templates were made by designers. Ours look fine. For a brand where the email is the product experience, that difference is worth more than any feature we could list.

Checkouts and sales pages. Sell a product, take a payment, run a subscription — all inside the Everything plan. We have no commerce at all.

Landing pages and forms. Included even on the free plan. We have neither, so replacing Flodesk fully means adding another tool for your signup flow.

FAQ

Email Bump vs Flodesk, asked and answered

Is Email Bump cheaper than Flodesk?

At most list sizes yes — $19/mo covers 10,000 contacts here against Pro's $28/mo at 1,000 subscribers.

If you use the Everything plan's checkouts and sales pages, that's not a like-for-like comparison; you'd be adding a payments tool alongside us.

Can I import my Flodesk subscribers?

Yes — a CSV export of subscribers and segments imports cleanly. Take the export with subscription status attached so unsubscribes arrive as unsubscribes.

Templates don't port between platforms, so plan to rebuild the two or three you actually send.

Do you have landing pages or checkouts?

Neither. Email, inbound email, contacts, segments and flows. If Flodesk is hosting your signup forms or taking your payments, we replace part of what you're using.
