Email Bump vs EmailOctopus
EmailOctopus is the cheapest credible newsletter tool. We're a lifecycle email platform that costs more and does more. Neither is trying to be the other.
Eight rows below, including the two where EmailOctopus wins outright — starting with price.
Which one you want, in three sentences
Pick EmailOctopus if you send a newsletter to a few thousand people and want the smallest bill that still works. $9/mo billed yearly is very hard to argue with.
Pick Email Bump if you need behavioural triggers, branching flows, or receipts and password resets on the same plan as the campaigns.
Pick neither if you want the biggest free plan, which is Sender or Kit, or no per-contact cost at all, which is self-hosted listmonk.

Two places EmailOctopus is the better choice
It's cheaper, and by a lot at the small end. $9/mo billed yearly against our $19. If you send one newsletter a week to 3,000 people and need nothing else, paying us more for flows you won't build would be daft.
Landing pages and forms. Unlimited on Pro. We have neither, so if EmailOctopus is hosting your signup flow, replacing it means adding another tool.
Email Bump vs EmailOctopus, asked and answered
Is Email Bump cheaper than EmailOctopus?
No, not at comparable sizes — $9/mo billed yearly is below our $19 entry tier. Our free plan covers more contacts (5,000 against 2,500) but fewer monthly emails.
We're cheaper only when you'd otherwise be buying a transactional provider alongside it.
Can I import my EmailOctopus lists?
Yes — a CSV export of subscribers and fields imports cleanly. Take the export with subscription status attached so unsubscribes arrive as unsubscribes.
Do both brand free-plan email?
Yes. EmailOctopus brands every send on free; we add a 'Powered by Email Bump' badge to marketing footers and never to transactional sends. Both remove it on the first paid plan.
