Head to head

Email Bump vs Amazon Pinpoint

Amazon Pinpoint loses AWS support on 30 October 2026, so this comparison is really a migration question: what replaces the parts you were using.

Eight rows below. We replace the email and campaign side and not the SMS, push or voice — and those APIs are surviving anyway under AWS End User Messaging.

The short version

Which one you want, in three sentences

Move to Amazon SES if you only used the email channel and you're happy building the layer above it. It's already what Pinpoint sends through, so nothing changes about delivery.

Move to Email Bump if you used Pinpoint's campaigns, segments and journeys and want them back without building them — on the same SES infrastructure your domains are already verified against.

Keep AWS End User Messaging for SMS, voice, push and OTP. Those APIs aren't going away, and no email platform on this page replaces them.

Against us

Two things Pinpoint still does better — until October

Channels we don't have. SMS, push, voice and OTP against one endpoint model. We send email and receive email. The good news is that those APIs survive the shutdown under AWS End User Messaging, so that half of your setup doesn't need us at all.

It's inside AWS. One bill, one IAM model, one region strategy, and event data that never leaves the account. If your whole stack is AWS, any external provider is a new vendor to review — including us.

FAQ

Email Bump vs Amazon Pinpoint, asked and answered

Will my sending reputation survive the move?

Yes, if you stay on SES infrastructure. Pinpoint sends through Amazon SES and so do we, so verified domains, DKIM records and accumulated reputation carry across rather than starting from zero.

That's unusual in a migration and it's the main reason this one is less painful than it looks.

Can I import Pinpoint endpoints as contacts?

With work. An endpoint is a channel-plus-address, so one person can be several endpoints. Collapse them to one contact per email address, keep the user attributes as custom fields, and map channel opt-outs onto subscription status before importing.

Do that mapping deliberately — an import that loses an opt-out re-subscribes someone who asked not to hear from you.

How long do I have?

AWS's stated end-of-support date is 30 October 2026. Working backwards, that means exporting and rebuilding well before then, with a parallel run while Pinpoint still works as a fallback.
